Today, Ombres Vives officially opens its first chapter!
We’re incredibly excited to share the beginning of our new adventure: a journey into tides, memories, and forgotten legends.
Les Marées d’Ys
Our first project is inspired by the coastlines of Brittany and the ancient legend of the sunken city of Ys, a mythical town said to have been claimed by the rising sea. This tale of disappearance, mystery, and echoes beneath the waves serves as the heart of our game.
We’re creating a contemplative puzzle experience where players interact with the rhythm of the tide itself. As the sea rises and falls, environments shift, structures reveal their spectral forms, and clues emerge from the interplay between the visible and the hidden. Your progression will depend on observation, anticipation, and reading the world around you.

Ombres Vives is a small independent team shaped by shared curiosity, stubborn creativity, and far too many conversations about folklore.

Why We’re Making This
At Ombres Vives, we believe that stories never really vanish, they sleep.
Territories still carry memories, old tales linger in the landscape, and legends quietly shape the way we see the world. With this game, we aim to awaken some of those dormant narratives through an experience that is short, immersive, and emotionally resonant.
We want to create moments where the boundary between the real and the imaginary feels thin, where the player slows down, observes, and lets the world speak.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll share insights into our design process, concept art, technical explorations, and the evolution of the game as it takes form. We’ll also lift the veil on how we’re bringing the legend of Ys to life through art direction, sound, and narrative systems.
